Choco Mousse

Who doesn’t love chocolate? I know I do and as Simona grows older I want her to experience its goodness. Needless to say, I wasn’t about to give chocolate or sugar to a 1 year old, so I had to come up with an alternative. Chocolate has high levels of sugar, palm oil and usually just a little bit of cocoa. This recipe will allow you to share a choco-like dessert/snack with your baby – but you won’t have to deal with a sugar-crazed, wired toddler running around!

Ingredients:

2-3 ripe bananas

1 tsp softened coconut oil

1 tsp sesame tahini

3 tsp carob powder (found next to the cocoa powder in the store or order online)

Coconut flakes, for decoration (optional)

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and puree them until smooth. Divide in small bowls or cups, sprinkle coconut flakes over each and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
